Phillip Island Sauna –

Terms, Conditions & Waiver of Liability

By making a booking with Phillip Island Sauna, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined below. Your booking and participation in any sauna session constitutes acceptance of all risks, responsibilities, and limitations of liability described in this document.

This waiver applies to all guests included in the booking. The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that all participants are aware of and agree to these terms prior to attending.

General and Medical Information

You must not use our facilities if you are pregnant, have heart conditions, respiratory disease, low blood pressure, or any other medical condition that may be affected by heat exposure, or if you are currently under medical care. This includes a history of dizziness or fainting, and the presence of any metal pins, rods, artificial joints, or surgical implants, including silicone.

By booking, you confirm that you have considered your personal health circumstances and, where appropriate, consulted a medical professional prior to participating. You accept full responsibility for your own health and wellbeing.

Any person using the sauna assumes full responsibility for their medical condition, including any medications they may be taking that could result in a medical emergency or unsafe condition. All guests must be aware of their personal limits and accept all risks associated with activities at Phillip Island Sauna.

We recommend drinking plenty of water before and after your sauna session and avoiding food for at least one to two hours beforehand to reduce the risk of discomfort.

Reducing the Risk of Overheating and Scalding

Our saunas operate at varying temperatures. Our wood-fired sauna typically runs between 80–95 degrees Celsius, with fluctuating humidity levels.

Prolonged exposure may cause overheating. Guests are encouraged to limit sauna use to intervals of maximum fifteen (15) minutes and to listen carefully to their body. Exit the sauna immediately if you feel nauseous, uncomfortable, dizzy, light-headed, or sleepy.

Do not use the sauna if you have recently consumed alcohol, drugs, or medications that may impair judgement or physical response. Use of the sauna is at your own risk.

Avoid direct contact with sauna rocks, steam outlets, or heaters, as they may cause serious injury. Metal items retain heat and are not recommended during sauna sessions.

Reducing the Risk of Slipping and Falling

Use caution when entering or exiting the sauna. Floors may be wet or slippery, and surrounding ground surfaces may be uneven as our saunas are located outdoors. Appropriate footwear is recommended at all times.

Chairs provided outside the sauna are for convenience and relaxation. Guests use these at their own risk.

Allergies

Our saunas are constructed using aromatic cedar and cypress. Guests with sensitivities or allergies use the facilities at their own risk. Exit the sauna immediately if you experience any adverse or allergic reaction, including difficulty breathing or irritation to the eyes, nose, or throat.

Understanding the Risks

Phillip Island Sauna is provided for relaxation, wellbeing, and relief of muscular tension only. It is not a medical or therapeutic service.

By booking and attending, you agree that if you experience any pain, discomfort, or distress, you will exit the sauna immediately.

You acknowledge the inherent risks associated with swimming in the sea, plunge pools, or other bodies of water for cooling down, including changing weather, surf conditions, cold shock, and uneven surfaces. You agree that Phillip Island Sauna is not responsible for any injury, illness, or death that may occur as a result.

By booking, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of sauna use and voluntarily assume all risks of injury, accident, illness, or death that may arise. You agree to waive and release Phillip Island Sauna, its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and host property owners from any and all liability, past, present, and future, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

This waiver applies to all sauna sessions and remains in effect unless otherwise stated in writing by Phillip Island Sauna.

Conduct, Clothing, and Hygiene

Smoking and e-cigarettes are not permitted in or around the sauna facilities. Glass containers or bottles are not allowed at any time.

Our facilities are unisex. Clothing must be worn at all times and nudity is not permitted. Swimwear is recommended. Guests may wear t-shirts, wraps, or robes for comfort.

Towels are required for hygiene. Guests must place a towel on benches before sitting to absorb perspiration during sauna use.

Cold Exposure

If you choose to cool down in the sea, plunge pool, or other bodies of water, you acknowledge the risks associated with sudden temperature changes and cold exposure, including shock to the body.

Final Acknowledgement

By making a booking and attending a session, you freely accept and assume all risks, damages, and hazards, including personal injury, illness, death, property damage, and loss.

You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions, and that you are giving up your right to bring legal action against Phillip Island Sauna, its staff, contractors, and host locations, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
